About Ms. Medina
This will be my 9th year of teaching and my 11th year in education. Unbelievable how quickly time passes! Before becoming a teacher, I worked as an aide in Alief ISD for two years and later at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital for four years while I finished my teaching degree.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters in Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston-Victoria. I am certified Generalist and Bilingual teacher in grades EC-8th. I have experience in elementary and secondary education-- most of it teaching math. I could not imagine doing anything else. I love what I do and the students that I serve!
A little about me, I attended and graduated from LCISD schools. I am the oldest child. My mother was a single mother of 3. My parents were both immigrants from different countries. My mother is from Matamoros, Mexico and retired from Alief ISD approximately 2 years ago. My father was from Pereira, Colombia. He died tragically when I was 10 years old. My experiences have taught me invaluable lessons and have shaped who I am today. I am a firm believer in using life's obstacles as stepping stones to success. Because of what I have been through, I push my students to become better in more than just their academics.
When I am not teaching, I love to cook and spend time with my family. I also have a sweet dog (10.5 year old Shiba Inu) at home.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to be your child's math teacher! I know that the middle school years are tough to navigate and I am here to assist in any way that I can. Please feel free to contact me. The best way to contact me is via email.
